TAVIRA is a historical city of smooth hills and a quiet river. A main focal point of the town is the 'Roman Bridge'. It's a place where the influence of other cultures is apparent in its architecture and the townspeople who live there.
FARO is the capital of the Algarve & has many interesting ruins from the Moorish & Roman period as well as some beautiful 18th Century buildings.
